IOWA or Bust!

Purchased a new, dare I say it, Mini-Van... I know, I know, there is not an ounce of cool left in us now but truly the best automobile made for families with little ones. Okay, back to my point... We packed up the house and drove cross country!

Pampa and the boys put Arby sandwiches in the trap and caught themselves a Racoon. Technically, they also caught a opposum as well but the Racoon is prettier to look at. No offense marsupial lovers!

Kinnick Stadium... Pictures just don't do you justice!

If you read the fine print, as I attempted to do while Matt drove 50 mph past the stadium, I'm pretty sure that sign indicated that Cyclone Fans and/or Alumni were not allowed... So sad for you Matt!

Last but certainly not least, I had to take a picture of our lonely souvenir from Iowa City... Had money to spend and only found this helmet air freshener to buy!

Three Hour Tour

Here are a few shots from the 'Anniversary Cruise to Ensenada'. We were literally about three hours from home the entire time but we like to think we were a Country away. Thanks again for watching the boys so we could enjoy a few days away.

* The ship literally parked in the middle of the ocean so that we can shop in Catalina. Wouldn't you think they would have a more efficient manner for parking. I mean, really... I think I'll park right here... why not?


*It literally took about three hours to get off the ship so we could take a tiny boat to shore. We spent more time in line in a cramped hallway then we did on the island itself. Time for a makeover Catalina!!!!


*The wait was a PERFECT time for me to get brain freeze while enjoying a self served ice cream cone. Hello, everyday should include self serve ice cream...YUM, YUM!

Noah's Last Day of School!

Noah has finished his first year of Preschool. They had a water day so dad dressed him with with swim clothes underneath. Of course, Micah had to dress too!

Noah's Final Child Evaluation from School:

For Noah, this year has brought about much physical and social/emotional growth. Noah interacted well with his peers with the exception of a few biting incidents. He easily made friends and enjoyed playing in groups or by himself. Noah started off the year being very shy and soft-spoken. It took him a while to become comfortable with his teachers.

During indoor classroom time, Noah always knows what he wants to participate in. He can spend a lot of time engaged in one activity. Noah enjoys doing puzzles, building with Legos, and pretending that he is making food in the dramatic play area. He also loves to paint. Noah takes his time and is very particular about the colors he wants to use and about using up the whole page.

Noah is extremely bright and loves learning. Noah's favorite thing to do in class is circle time. This is when we are reading stories and singing songs. We are learning the calendar and doing Zoophonics. He just shines during this time. Noah is writing his name. He has good control over scissors and writing implements.

During outside time, Noah is riding bikes and playing in the sand and wood chips. He is also out there running, jumping, and climbing with all his friends.

Recommendations for Next Year:

It has been a pleasure having Noah in class and being able to watch his growth. He is definitely ready to move forward. I know he will do well.

There's a First for Everything... This edition, BEACH!

Noah and Micah FINALLY got to see the ocean in person. As we were driving, the ocean was on the left hand side and Noah was "ooohhhhing" and "aaaahhhhing" wereas Micah was looking out the right hand side towards a field and little ponds of water and was overjoyed at the sight of what he thought was the ocean.

Noah and Micah's first impression of walking on sand... Noah said it was really hard to walk and Micah took one step, froze, and made an "Ick" face! Much to our surprise, Micah really didn't like events of the Beach. Turns out he is just like his mommy and was completely content sitting on the blanket watching everyone else while being bundled in a sweatshirt and towels. Who knew!

Priorities... SUNBLOCK!
